FIFA has repeatedly confirmed Iran's participation in the 2026 World Cup, with the team set to play its scheduled matches in the United States after securing a base camp in Mexico amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. This official stance from FIFA president Gianni Infantino, combined with Iran's recent squad selections and logistical arrangements, underpins the overwhelming trader consensus favoring no replacement. Italy has firmly rejected any substitution proposal, while potential alternatives such as the UAE or Bolivia remain distant possibilities only if Iran withdraws due to unresolved travel or safety concerns. Historical qualifying rules and FIFA's emphasis on maintaining the field integrity further support the current market positioning, though last-minute developments could still shift outcomes before the tournament opens.
