Bianca Andreescu enters the 2026 US Open women's singles qualifying as the 2019 champion seeking main-draw entry, bringing extensive hard-court experience and a strong recent win rate after managing past injuries to stay healthy through a busy 2026 schedule. The Canadian faces 19-year-old Veronika Podrez, who has climbed to a career-high ranking near 132 on the strength of consistent ITF and WTA results this season. No prior head-to-head exists, and the hard-court surface at Flushing Meadows favors Andreescu's power and movement, though Podrez's youth and recent form create realistic upset potential in a best-of-three match that could hinge on early breaks and serving efficiency.
