Alexei Popyrin and Raphael Collignon meet in the Halle Open first round on grass, with no prior head-to-head record. Collignon, ranked No. 51 after reaching a career high, enters with a stronger 2026 record (9-6) following successful qualifying wins and consistent performances, including deep runs on European clay. Popyrin, ranked No. 90 with an 8-14 mark, brings greater Grand Slam experience and a powerful serve suited to the fast surface but has struggled with early exits after the clay swing. The matchup favors the higher-ranked Belgian's recent momentum and return game, though Popyrin's height and serve could create trouble on the low-bouncing grass if he finds early rhythm.
