Finland enters the 2026 IIHF Men's World Championship matchup against Great Britain with a structured defensive system and recent momentum from a 3-1 opening win over Germany in Zurich. The Finns, seeking their first medal since 2022, leverage superior depth, pace, and tournament experience in Group A against a newly promoted British side focused primarily on survival. Great Britain dealt with a late roster adjustment after forward Sean Norris suffered an injury, bringing in Sam Lyne as a replacement ahead of the May 22 contest. Trader consensus at 60 percent for Finland reflects these gaps in roster quality and recent form, tempered by the underdog's potential for competitive stretches in a single-game setting.
