The St. Louis Cardinals enter Saturday’s matchup at Busch Stadium with a 25-18 record and strong recent form that has kept them within striking distance of the NL Central lead, while the Kansas City Royals sit at 19-26 and have dropped their last five games. The Cardinals’ lineup has generated 4.6 runs per contest, supported by solid on-base percentages and power, whereas the Royals’ pitching staff has posted a 4.43 ERA marked by elevated walks and a 1.38 WHIP. Several Royals starters remain on the injured list, limiting rotation depth, while St. Louis has dealt with fewer absences. Home-field advantage at Busch Stadium and the Cardinals’ overall roster health give them the clearer edge in this interleague series, though the Royals’ young core could produce offensive bursts if they stabilize their bullpen.
