Javokhir Sindarov's commanding victory at the 2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament, secured with a round to spare in April, has established him as the clear frontrunner in the market for the upcoming World Chess Championship. The 20-year-old Uzbek grandmaster delivered an unbeaten, record-setting performance that propelled him into the top five of the FIDE ratings and earned widespread praise from figures like Garry Kasparov for his positional depth and rapid rise. This recent surge in form contrasts with Gukesh Dommaraju's more measured results since claiming the title, though the reigning champion's prior match experience and resilience in high-stakes classical play keep his implied probability competitive. Traders appear to weigh Sindarov's momentum and head-to-head trends from recent rapid and blitz encounters as decisive factors heading into the fall match.
