Pawel Pawlikowski’s FATHERLAND leads the Palme d’Or market at 29.5% implied probability, reflecting traders’ focus on his established festival pedigree and the film’s reported strong critical reception ahead of the May competition. The race remains tight, with Na Hong-jin’s HOPE at 24% and László Nemes’s MOULIN at 18.1%, as buyers factor in each director’s prior awards momentum and the unpredictable nature of Cannes jury preferences. Recent industry signals, including precursor buzz from critics’ circles and directorial track records in similar auteur-driven categories, continue to shape positioning, though late reviews or festival premieres could quickly shift sentiment before the ceremony.
