Ferguson brings recent hard-court experience from prior Maanshan stops this year, though he exited early in the preceding M15 edition after a straight-sets loss to Hanyi Liu. Yamanaka arrives from ATP Challenger events in India and has shown competitive form on faster surfaces but limited recent wins at the ITF level. Both players have logged solid results in Chinese swing tournaments earlier in 2026, yet neither has extensive head-to-head history at this grade. Surface familiarity, recent match volume on hard, and recovery from travel will shape the outcome in this closely matched encounter.
