The 2026-27 NBA Rookie of the Year market remains tightly bunched among top 2026 draft prospects because multiple high-lottery talents posted dominant freshman seasons and followed up with strong summer-league showings that have not yet produced a clear frontrunner. Cameron Boozer’s Duke production (22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds) and polished two-way game keep him narrowly ahead at 22.5%, but Darryn Peterson’s athleticism and scoring at Kansas, AJ Dybantsa’s size and versatility at BYU, and Caleb Wilson’s athletic tools at North Carolina sit within a few percentage points, reflecting comparable draft pedigrees and roster situations. Early professional reps have not shifted consensus dramatically, leaving room for regular-season usage, team context, and injury luck to decide which rookie emerges. Lower-priced names such as Darius Acuff Jr. and Mikel Brown Jr. trail significantly, underscoring how the top cluster’s shared upside sustains the compressed pricing.
