The 2026 NFL season opened with no dominant favorite to lead in total touchdowns, as trader consensus reflects a wide field of contenders featuring proven quarterbacks, versatile skill-position groups, and upgraded schemes. The Los Angeles Chargers sit atop implied probabilities after adding Mike McDaniel as offensive coordinator to pair with Justin Herbert, a move expected to increase efficiency and red-zone production following offseason line reinforcements. Buffalo follows closely behind, buoyed by Josh Allen’s dual-threat ability and a strong Week 1 showing in the team’s new stadium. Other clubs such as the Patriots, Jaguars, and several NFC teams carry meaningful shares due to favorable schedules, returning weapons, and recent form, while traditional powers face steeper implied paths amid roster turnover and tougher early matchups. Week 1 results and injury updates continue to shape rapid adjustments in this tightly bunched market.
