Carlos Alcaraz’s ongoing right wrist injury, diagnosed as tenosynovitis and keeping him sidelined since April, remains the dominant factor shaping the 62% implied probability for a US Open appearance. The defending champion has missed Roland Garros and Wimbledon, withdrawn from the Cincinnati Masters, and accumulated no competitive matches in over four months, raising concerns about match fitness ahead of the August 30 start in New York. He stays on the official entry list and has targeted a return, yet experts highlight the risks of rushing back into best-of-five sets without recent play or a final tune-up like Winston-Salem. Trader consensus reflects both his history of strong recoveries and the realistic chance the timeline slips.

Carlos Alcaraz is considered to have "played" if he takes the court and play begins in any of his main-draw singles matches. Being entered in the draw, or an opponent's retirement or walkover before any play begins, does not by itself count as having played. If Alcaraz begins a match and then retires or is defaulted, this market will resolve "Yes."
If the tournament is postponed beyond September 27, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or canceled before Alcaraz plays a main-draw singles match, this market will resolve "No."
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the US Open (usopen.org); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
