Valve added the reworked Cache to CS2 Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and Retakes modes in late April 2026 following years of community demand and FMPONE's workshop version, marking the first step toward broader rotation. Trader focus now centers on whether Valve will promote it to the Premier/active duty pro pool before the specified cutoff, consistent with past patterns of testing maps casually then aligning changes with seasons or majors like IEM Cologne. Key variables include pro player and team feedback on balance, which map would be removed to maintain the seven-map structure, and Valve's infrequent but deliberate pool updates that prioritize viewer engagement and competitive integrity over rapid shifts. Positive reception could accelerate inclusion, while optimization or meta concerns might delay it.
