Rhyne Howard of the Atlanta Dream leads the 2026 WNBA steals-per-game race at 2.3, well ahead of Jordin Canada at 1.9 and others, reflecting her consistent defensive activity across roughly 39 games and 34.6 minutes per contest. Howard’s combination of high steal volume, perimeter pressure, and All-Defensive pedigree has produced a sustained edge that traders view as decisive with the regular season nearing its end. Canada, her teammate, remains the clearest alternative through strong playmaking and defensive contributions but trails by a meaningful margin. Other listed players trail further behind on official leaderboards. A late injury to Howard or an unprecedented surge from a challenger could theoretically alter the outcome, though the current gap and limited remaining schedule make such shifts unlikely.

In the event of a tie for the highest steals per game average, this market will resolve in favor of the player who appeared in the greater number of games. If the tied players also played the same number of games, the market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
Qualification for inclusion in official WNBA leaderboards (such as minimum games or statistical thresholds) will be determined according to WNBA rules and applied exactly as reflected in the official leaderboard.
If the 2026 WNBA regular season is cancelled, postponed after October 8, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or if an official leader has not been declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be the WNBA (https://stats.wnba.com/players/traditional/).
