The tight clustering of implied probabilities around 43-49.5% for the 2026-27 Bundesliga runner-up spot stems from pre-season uncertainty following Bayern Munich's title defense and the FIFA World Cup's conclusion. Multiple clubs, including recently promoted sides like SC Paderborn, SV Elversberg, and Hamburger SV alongside established teams such as Schalke 04, 1. FC Köln, and TSG Hoffenheim, enter with comparable squad depth, managerial stability, and European ambitions. Fixture schedules, transfer windows, and recovery from international duty create parity, while historical patterns show no single challenger dominating second place behind the champions. This setup leaves the race open to momentum shifts from early results and injury developments.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Bundesliga for the 2026-27 season per the rules of Bundesliga (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the Bundesliga; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
