The 2026-27 Primeira Liga runner-up market remains tightly bunched because the title race itself is wide open among defending champions FC Porto, Sporting CP, and Benfica, leaving the second-place spot highly dependent on which of the big three falters. Early-season results after the first matchweek show Porto atop the table following a win while Sporting CP and Benfica drew, underscoring the narrow margins. Significant summer transfers—including high-profile departures from Sporting CP such as Francisco Trincão and Geovany Quenda, alongside incoming reinforcements at Benfica and Porto—have reshuffled squad depths without creating clear separation. Braga sits as a credible fourth option with European experience, while mid-table sides like Vitória de Guimarães and Famalicão retain realistic paths through strong home form and historical overperformance. This parity, combined with the typical 8-12 point spread separating the top four in recent campaigns, keeps implied probabilities clustered as traders weigh roster stability, fixture congestion from UEFA competitions, and the absence of a dominant frontrunner.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Primeira Liga for the 2026-27 season per the rules of Primeira Liga (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the Primeira Liga; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
