With the 2026-27 A-League Men season still in preseason and set to open in mid-October, no club holds a meaningful edge in the race for the most clean sheets. Historical defensive standouts such as Sydney FC and Auckland FC, along with Melbourne City, Melbourne Victory, and others, enter with comparable roster depth, goalkeeper stability, and back-line organization after typical off-season turnover. Recent friendlies and training reports show balanced preparation across the 12 teams, while the league’s overall parity in attacking quality limits any single side from establishing a clear shutout advantage. Trader consensus therefore reflects broad uncertainty, with outcomes tightly grouped until regular-season form, injury updates, and early tactical adjustments provide clearer signals.
