Iran enters the 2027 AFC Asian Cup as Group C’s clear favorite on the strength of superior squad depth, consistent recent results in qualifiers, and a history of multiple titles, yet traders price the outcome tightly because Syria, Kyrgyzstan, and China each bring realistic upset potential. All four sides will play a compact three-match group stage in January, where a single strong result or defensive lapse can swing standings. Syria’s recent Round of 16 appearance and Kyrgyzstan’s growing depth add meaningful variance, while China’s resources keep long-shot scenarios alive. This balance of established quality against motivated challengers sustains the bunched implied probabilities across the field.
