This market will resolve according to “Yes” if UEFA’s boycott of FIFA-sanctioned tournaments ceases for any period of time between market creation and the specified date (11:59 PM ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". An announcement of an end to UEFA’s boycott of FIFA competitions before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the end of the boycott goes into effect. This market's primary resolution source will be official information from FIFA and/or UEFA, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.UEFA and its 55 member associations unanimously voted on July 30, 2026, to boycott all FIFA competitions, including the World Cup, unless FIFA abandons plans to sell stakes in the tournament to private investors. The European governing body described the proposal as an unacceptable move toward external ownership of football’s flagship event, with CONCACAF aligning in opposition and the AFC expressing solidarity. This standoff follows months of tension between FIFA and confederations over governance and revenue models. Resolution hinges on whether FIFA modifies or withdraws the investment plan through direct negotiations, potentially influenced by pressure from other regional bodies and the approach of upcoming international windows. The boycott’s duration will likely reflect how quickly these competing interests reach a binding agreement on competition structure and ownership.
