The early stage of the 2026/27 J1 League season, with most sides having played just seven matches under the new autumn-spring calendar, keeps the clean sheets market tightly bunched as no team has built a meaningful lead in shutouts. FC Tokyo leads recent tallies with four, while Cerezo Osaka, Vissel Kobe, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and Yokohama F. Marinos sit on three apiece, reflecting broad defensive parity across the league. Strong recent form from sides like Machida Zelvia and Kashiwa Reysol, combined with solid goalkeeper performances and low goals conceded in limited fixtures, sustains the even trader consensus around 42% implied probability for the field. Schedule congestion, varying home/away splits, and the absence of a historically dominant backline further prevent any single club from separating in the race for the most clean sheets.
