This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 Sun Belt Football Championship Game, determining the champion of the Sun Belt Conference for the 2026 college football season, currently scheduled for December 4, 2026. If this championship is postponed after December 18, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, canceled, or a champion has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other." If multiple teams are declared co-champions, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the Sun Belt Conference (https://sunbelt.org); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The 2026 Sun Belt Conference football race remains wide open entering the season due to substantial parity across both divisions, with no single program holding a decisive edge in returning production, roster depth, or projected strength. James Madison enters as defending champion but faces a significant reset under first-year head coach Billy Napier after losing most starters and its prior staff, while Old Dominion and Marshall rank as primary East Division challengers behind strong recent form and key individual standouts. In the West, Troy tops preseason polls but faces pressure from Louisiana, Arkansas State, and newcomer Louisiana Tech amid balanced conference schedules that limit separation. Multiple teams across the league boast comparable records of recent bowl eligibility and competitive head-to-head trends, sustaining tight implied probabilities as the wisdom of crowds reflects uncertainty around coaching transitions, transfer portal impacts, and early-season injury reports.
