FIFA announced on May 14 that Madonna, Shakira, and BTS will co-headline the inaugural World Cup final halftime show on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, produced by Global Citizen and curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin. Shakira, who also headlined the June 11 opening ceremony in Mexico City and released the official tournament anthem “Dai Dai” with Burna Boy, brings Latin crossover appeal and prior Super Bowl experience, while BTS’s post-military-service return adds global K-pop draw and Madonna contributes veteran stadium spectacle. The lineup targets broad international audiences and aligns with the expanded 48-team tournament’s emphasis on entertainment and social impact initiatives. With the final still a month away, any late roster adjustments or production tweaks remain possible but unlikely given the early confirmation and heavy promotion.
