Elon Musk's January 2026 public filing for full custody of his son with influencer Ashley St. Clair, triggered by her apology to the transgender community, initially fueled headlines but has not shifted the Polymarket consensus heavily toward "No." Traders cite the protracted New York court proceedings, where St. Clair previously petitioned for sole legal custody, alongside reports of Musk reducing child support payments as key factors eroding his position. Family courts typically favor joint arrangements unless extreme circumstances like proven instability are documented, and no verified rulings or precedent shifts have emerged in the months since the announcement. While Musk's substantial resources could influence outcomes in a high-profile case, realistic challenges to the strong "No" lean include sudden evidence of parental unfitness or unexpected judicial findings favoring sole custody.
