Lionel Messi's inclusion in Argentina's preliminary 55-man roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has anchored the strong 95% market consensus for a "Yes" outcome, reflecting his continued central role in the defending champions' campaign under coach Lionel Scaloni. Recent international windows show Messi logging minutes without major setbacks, while his Inter Miami form and public comments on tournament favorites underscore his engagement with the global stage. Historical patterns favor the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner extending his international run to a sixth World Cup appearance, bolstered by supportive signals from Scaloni and FIFA leadership. Still, realistic challenges include a late injury, personal retirement timing, or fatigue from the MLS season that could prompt a last-minute withdrawal before the final squad lock.
