Jenson Brooksby enters the first-round National Bank Open matchup in Montreal as the slight market favorite, reflecting his higher ranking and experience, though Adam Walton's strong 2026 hard-court results create a competitive dynamic. Walton, ranked around No. 97, has posted a robust record on the surface this year with consistent match volume, while Brooksby, near No. 77, continues his post-injury recovery with a more limited hard-court tally and recent form challenges. No prior head-to-head exists, and the hard-court setting plus first-round conditions emphasize serve efficiency and return play, leaving room for momentum shifts in what traders view as a near-even contest.
