Tung-lin Wu enters the ITF M25 Taipei hard-court matchup as the clear favorite due to his ATP ranking near 370 and prior career-high of 158, giving him substantially more experience at higher levels than Taisei Ichikawa (ranked around 793). Wu has compiled a stronger recent hard-court record, including multiple challenger appearances, while Ichikawa has primarily competed at ITF events with mixed results, including qualifier wins followed by first-round exits against stronger opposition. The local Taiwanese player also benefits from home support on his preferred surface. Ichikawa showed flashes of form in July Bali and Astana events but faces a significant step up in class here, with resolution hinging on confirmed pre-match fitness and standard best-of-three scoring.
