Michiel De Krom enters the first-round ITF M25 Muttenz clash on outdoor clay as the clear ranking favorite against 18-year-old Elijah Sanogo. The 28-year-old Dutch player holds a career-high singles ranking of 437 and currently sits around 742, bringing substantially more ITF and challenger experience than the Frenchman ranked near 1158. Sanogo’s youth offers long-term upside and recent ITF activity, yet De Krom’s established results on clay surfaces and superior head-to-head metrics in comparable matches shape trader consensus. Factors such as recent form, physical freshness after travel, and any late withdrawals could still influence outcomes in this $30,000 event, though the ranking gap remains the dominant driver of implied probabilities.
