The tightly bunched probabilities for the 2026 Super Rapid and Blitz Croatia reflect a stacked field of elite grandmasters with comparable FIDE ratings and proven records in shorter time controls. Anish Giri holds the narrow edge thanks to consistent rapid results and strong positional play, but Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu sit close behind on the strength of their dynamic styles and recent performances against top opposition. Gukesh Dommaraju, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, and Vincent Keymer add further depth with their tactical sharpness in blitz, while Alireza Firouzja and Jorden van Foreest remain live threats based on historical success in similar Grand Chess Tour stops. The format’s mix of 9-round rapid and double-round blitz rounds leaves room for form swings, making the outcome highly competitive among these contenders.
