Incumbent Craig Greenberg holds a commanding position in the 2026 Louisville mayoral race following his 52.5% finish in the May nonpartisan primary, more than double the share of runner-up Shameka Parrish-Wright. His advantages include substantial fundraising—roughly $870,000 raised or carried over through early September with $760,000 cash on hand—alongside endorsements from Governor Andy Beshear, U.S. Rep. Morgan McGarvey, and multiple labor unions. Greenberg’s campaign emphasizes public safety, economic development, and affordable housing, building on his first term that began after the 2022 election. Parrish-Wright, a progressive Metro Council member, trails significantly in resources and name recognition despite her focus on housing affordability and community services. Late developments such as major scandals, health events, or sharp shifts in turnout could still alter the November 3 general election outcome.
