Kate Marshall advanced from the June 2026 nonpartisan primary with roughly 45% of the vote to face Kathleen Taylor in the November 3 general election for Reno mayor, following term limits on incumbent Hillary Schieve. Marshall’s strong primary performance, prior service as Nevada lieutenant governor, and endorsements from labor and political figures have shaped trader consensus around her high implied probability. Taylor, a sitting city council member and vice mayor, secured second place in the primary but trails significantly in current pricing. Recent candidate forums have highlighted shared local priorities such as homelessness, housing costs, and data center regulations without notable shifts in positioning. The roughly six-week window to Election Day leaves room for standard campaign developments to influence final voter turnout in this nonpartisan race.
