Essendon Bombers and Sydney Swans meet at the MCG in a closely contested AFL Round 23 clash, with traders pricing the home side at even implied probability. Essendon's home-ground advantage and familiarity with the venue create balance against Sydney's stronger overall season form and higher ladder position. Key factors include both teams' recent injury concerns, with Essendon missing key contributors like Nic Martin for the year and dealing with ongoing list issues, while the Swans manage calf and hamstring niggles among their midfield and forward lines. Recent results show Sydney's consistency in tight games offset by travel demands from Sydney, whereas Essendon seeks momentum from limited home wins. Late team selections, weather at the MCG, or midweek form shifts could quickly alter sentiment ahead of the bounce.
