Costco’s steadfast commitment to its $1.50 hot dog and soda combo continues to anchor trader sentiment, with CEO Ron Vachris publicly reaffirming in multiple 2026 videos and statements that the price will hold “as long as I’m around.” This echoes decades of corporate tradition treating the deal as a brand loyalty pillar, reinforced by recent April updates that added a bottled water option without touching the price tag. No internal signals or cost pressures have surfaced through mid-2026 to suggest an imminent hike before year-end 2026. While a sudden leadership shift or severe supply disruption could theoretically force a rethink, historical precedent and current conditions make any change highly improbable in the near term.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the price of a standard Costco hot dog and 20 oz soda combo before tax exceeds $1.50 in any Costco store in the United States by December 31, 2026, 11:59PM ET. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No".
If Costco announces they will increase the price, this market will resolve to "Yes" regardless of whether that change is actually implemented.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Costco, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
