Bulgaria's victory at Eurovision 2026 with Dara's "Bangaranga" has set the stage for the 2027 contest, with the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) now finalizing host city bids narrowed to Burgas or Sofia. Recent developments include Canada's confirmed debut as the first new participant since Australia in 2015, North Macedonia's return after several years, and around 17 countries publicly stating their intention to compete as of early August 2026. Selection processes are ramping up, such as Israel's renewal of "The Next Star," while potential withdrawals tied to participation disputes and historical patterns of broadcaster decisions shape the lineup. Traders should monitor EBU confirmations, national final announcements, and any geopolitical influences on participation through the coming months.
