Florida's 5th congressional district remains a strongly Republican seat, with incumbent John Rutherford positioned for reelection amid high trader consensus for the Republican nominee. Multiple nonpartisan forecasters rate the race Solid Republican or Safe Republican based on the district's partisan voting index and Rutherford's prior 63 percent general election margin. The upcoming August 18 Republican primary against challenger Mark Kaye has drawn limited attention, while Democratic primary contenders show no signs of mounting a serious general election threat. Fundraising data and historical turnout patterns in this Northeast Florida district further reinforce the incumbent's advantages heading into November 2026. A shift in odds would require either an unexpected primary upset, major scandal, or unusually strong Democratic national environment not currently evident in polling or race ratings.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
