Republican nominee Casey Askar holds the edge in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District following the August 18 primaries and the seat’s shift to a Republican-leaning profile after the state’s mid-decade redistricting. The open district, which spans Collier, Hendry, western Broward, and parts of Palm Beach counties, favors GOP candidates on recent ratings from Cook Political Report and similar forecasters. Askar, a Marine veteran and businessman with strong local ties in Collier County, secured key endorsements including from state Senate President Kathleen Passidomo and entry into the NRCC’s MAGA Majority program in early September. Democratic nominee Pia Dandiya, a former educator and White House Fellow, faces a structural disadvantage in the reconfigured electorate despite raising substantial funds. Traders price the November 3 general election accordingly, reflecting the district’s partisan realignment and Askar’s post-primary momentum.
