Incumbent Republican Rich McCormick holds a commanding position in Georgia’s 7th congressional district race, consistent with the district’s R+11 Partisan Voter Index and solid or safe Republican ratings from forecasters including the Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball. McCormick ran unopposed in the Republican primary and secured 64.9 percent in the 2024 general election, while Democrat Tony Kozycki emerged from a contested Democratic primary and June runoff to become the nominee. The suburban and rural district north of Atlanta has favored Republicans in recent cycles, limiting Democratic paths despite potential suburban turnout or national shifts. Late developments such as major scandals, health events, or significant polling swings could still alter the outcome before the November 3 general election.
