Top-seeded Katie Swan (WTA 269) holds a clear ranking edge over Dalayna Hewitt (WTA 624) heading into their ITF W75 Kurume round-of-16 clash on carpet courts, marking their first head-to-head matchup. Swan advanced with a straight-sets win over wild card Chika Miyahara in the first round on May 12, showcasing strong form after a 3-8 singles record earlier in 2026. Hewitt similarly progressed 2-0 over Remika Ohashi, leveraging qualifier momentum in a tournament that began May 11. No injuries or withdrawals reported; traders weigh Swan's seeding and experience against Hewitt's potential for ITF upsets, with surface familiarity and fatigue from recent matches as key variables.
