Stephen Curry’s repeated public affirmations that he intends to finish his career with the Golden State Warriors, paired with the franchise’s willingness to grant him full control over any extension terms, underpin the market’s near-certainty he will not depart. The 38-year-old guard became eligible for a two-year, $136.7 million maximum extension on August 29 and has stated there is “no question” he wants to remain in Golden State while preparing for his 18th season. Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy has echoed this outlook, noting Curry’s consistent desire to win and retire as a Warrior, with the team prepared to offer whatever deal Curry prefers. While an injury, sharp performance drop, or roster dissatisfaction could theoretically prompt reconsideration before free agency in 2027, current reporting shows no such developments or internal friction.
