New Mexico's Democratic nominee Deb Haaland holds a dominant position in the 2026 gubernatorial race against Republican Gregg Hull, reflecting the state's consistent partisan lean in statewide contests and Haaland's decisive primary victory after incumbent Michelle Lujan Grisham became term-limited. Haaland's background as a former U.S. representative and Interior Secretary provides significant name recognition and party infrastructure advantages heading into November. Independent analyses rate the contest as likely Democratic, while the sole recent public survey—a July poll sponsored by Hull's campaign—showed a statistical tie that traders appear to discount relative to historical voting patterns. Key variables that could still shift outcomes include candidate messaging on oil and gas policy, debate performances, and shifts in turnout among key demographic blocs.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
