The 2026 Berlin state election on 20 September remains highly competitive, with recent polls showing Die Linke, CDU, AfD, and Greens clustered within a few points of one another around 16–21 percent. Trader pricing reflects this fragmentation plus post-election coalition dynamics that determine the governing mayor, who is elected by the Abgeordnetenhaus rather than directly. Incumbent Kai Wegner’s replacement by CDU Finance Senator Stefan Evers after declining support and governance criticism has narrowed the conservative path while boosting visibility for Linke lead candidate Elif Eralp, whose party tops several surveys. Greens’ dual ticket of Bettina Jarasch and Werner Graf, SPD’s Steffen Krach, and AfD’s Kristin Brinker further split the field, sustaining uncertainty over viable majorities or alliances. Late shifts in turnout, coalition signaling, or final-week polling could still alter the implied probabilities ahead of the vote.
