Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads the market at 71.5% due to the Parti Québécois maintaining a consistent edge in voting intentions and leadership ratings ahead of the October 5, 2026, provincial election. Recent polling shows the PQ ahead overall and among francophones, with Plamondon viewed as the strongest premier candidate at 22% support, while CAQ satisfaction has fallen to 38%. His August outreach to anglophones, stressing shared concerns and competent governance after years of Coalition Avenir Québec rule, has reinforced this positioning without shifting focus from sovereignty priorities. Christine Fréchette’s incumbency as the April 2026 CAQ leader and premier provides a baseline for her 13.3% odds, while Liberal leader Charles Milliard’s 14% reflects the party’s ongoing recovery under new leadership. The closely watched campaign timeline and potential for late shifts in turnout or coalitions continue to shape trader assessments.
