The NHL's 2026-27 season opens with a tight 2027 Stanley Cup futures market driven by strong regular-season pedigrees and targeted offseason additions among the leaders. Defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, Presidents' Trophy-winning Colorado Avalanche, and retooling Florida Panthers (bolstered by the Brady Tkachuk acquisition and a healthy Aleksander Barkov) sit atop implied probabilities near 10-12.5% each, reflecting their balanced rosters, special-teams consistency, and recent playoff experience. Vegas Golden Knights, Edmonton Oilers, and Tampa Bay Lightning follow closely on the back of deep runs, star power like Connor McDavid, and cap flexibility. League parity, injury recoveries, and training-camp developments such as restricted free-agent signings keep the field bunched, with no single team holding a decisive edge entering the expanded 84-game schedule.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to be named as the champion of NHL for the 2026-27 season per the rules of NHL (e.g., participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared winners, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a champion has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the NHL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
