LaMonica McIver secured the Democratic nomination for New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District in the June 2026 primary with 84.8% of the vote against a low-profile challenger, setting up a general election matchup against Republican Carmen Bucco on November 3. The district, anchored in Newark and surrounding areas with a strong Democratic performance history, carries a Solid Democratic rating from multiple forecasters and delivered McIver roughly 74% in her 2024 special election win. Bucco, a perennial candidate and tailor who ran unopposed in the Republican primary, faces structural disadvantages in voter registration and past results. McIver’s incumbency, local endorsements, and fundraising edge reinforce trader consensus around her position, though the outcome could shift only in the event of late developments such as a major legal ruling on pending federal charges or an unforeseen turnout surge.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
