Following the May 5 primaries that confirmed Democrat Amy Acton and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy as nominees for Ohio's open-seat gubernatorial contest, trader consensus reflects a razor-thin edge for Democrats at 53.5% amid polling averages showing Acton ahead by just 0.3 points. Ohio's swing-state status, term limits barring incumbent Gov. Mike DeWine from reelection, and both candidates' lack of prior elected experience keep the race deadlocked, with Acton's COVID-era health director role contrasting Ramaswamy's national biotech profile and outsider appeal. Recent negative ads post-primary signal intensifying battlegrounds over economy, taxes, and affordability; upcoming debates, endorsements, and turnout dynamics could create separation before the November 3 ballot.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
