The early 2026-27 Scottish Premiership campaign shows a congested mid-to-lower table after six or seven fixtures, with points clustered tightly from St Mirren and Motherwell down through Kilmarnock. Celtic and Hearts sit clear at the top, but the fight for positions around 10th remains wide open as teams trade results in a compressed schedule. Recent form swings, including Dundee United’s win over St Mirren and Aberdeen’s emphatic victory at Motherwell, have kept several clubs within striking distance of one another. Historical patterns in the league demonstrate that early-season standings often shift markedly once the fixture list balances and squad depth or injuries begin to matter, leaving traders pricing every listed side at equal implied probability for finishing exactly 10th.
