Redistricting completed in May 2026 significantly altered Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District by removing Davidson County (Nashville) and portions of Memphis, shifting the seat to an R+10 Cook Partisan Voter Index and stretching it across more rural, conservative areas of Middle Tennessee. This structural change has positioned the Republican nominee—incumbent Andy Ogles, who survived an August 6 primary challenge from former Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher—as the clear frontrunner in the November 3 general election. Democratic primary contenders, including Columbia Mayor Chaz Molder and Memphis City Council member Yolanda Cooper-Sutton, face a steep path in the newly configured map despite a single early poll showing a single-digit gap. Forecasters rate the race Likely or Solid Republican, reflecting the district’s transformed electorate and limited Democratic crossover potential in a midterm cycle. Trader consensus aligns with these electoral fundamentals rather than individual candidate dynamics.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
