Mark Pocan’s incumbency in the solidly Democratic Wisconsin 2nd district, which encompasses Madison and surrounding areas, underpins the overwhelming trader consensus favoring the Democratic nominee at 95.9%. The seat delivered Pocan 70% of the vote in 2024, and nonpartisan forecasters have consistently rated the 2026 contest Solid or Safe Democratic ahead of the November general election. Pocan’s recent primary victory on August 11 further cements his position with no competitive Republican challenger emerging. Potential shifts could arise from an unforeseen scandal, a national political realignment producing an unusually strong Republican wave, or an unusually late surge in opposition fundraising and turnout that narrows the historical margin in this low-competition district.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
