Recent September rulings rejected defense challenges to expanded bank-account scrutiny by UDEF police while allowing the inquiry to broaden. Spanish judicial timelines for complex financial cases involving former officials typically involve extended instruction phases rather than swift arrests, especially absent flight-risk findings or new compelling evidence. Traders price low near-term arrest odds accordingly, reflecting the procedural stage and Zapatero’s compliance to date. No resolution date or additional scheduled hearings immediately alter this dynamic.
