Barrios Vera, the higher-ranked player at No. 135, enters with strong recent clay form highlighted by quarterfinal and semifinal runs at the Oeiras Challenger and Rome qualifying in mid-May. Mayot, ranked No. 217 and playing in front of a home crowd, arrives after a first-round exit at the Tunis Challenger and limited clay results this spring. Their lone prior meeting came on hard courts in 2024, where Mayot prevailed in straight sets, but the shift to clay and Barrios Vera’s current momentum shape expectations for this best-of-three encounter.
