Recent polls for Berlin’s September 20 Abgeordnetenhaus election show The Left, CDU, and AfD clustered within a few points of one another at the top, with The Left often leading narrowly on 19–22 percent followed by CDU and AfD near 18 percent and the Greens on 16–17 percent. This tight four-way spread among the strongest parties creates substantial uncertainty over exact finishing positions and keeps implied probabilities for third place concentrated on AfD, Greens, and CDU. The CDU’s replacement of its prior lead candidate after a January power-outage scandal, combined with AfD gains amid national trends and The Left’s membership surge, have driven recent volatility without establishing a durable order. Minor parties remain far behind, while the September 20 vote and any late shifts in turnout or undecided voters could still reorder the top tier.
