Gian van Veen enters this Australian Darts Masters quarterfinal as the clear favorite on paper, sitting at world No. 2 after reaching the 2026 PDC World Championship final and claiming the European Championship title. However, the 50-50 implied probability reflects Brody Klinge's strong home-soil momentum following a dramatic 6-5 upset over Ross Smith in the opening round, where the Australian averaged 96 and capitalized on two missed match darts in a deciding-leg thriller. Van Veen advanced comfortably with a 6-3 win and a standout 161 checkout, yet the matchup pits his elite finishing and experience against Klinge's recent ADA Tour dominance and local crowd support. Any lapse in van Veen's doubles accuracy or a hot streak from the underdog could quickly shift sentiment in this best-of-11 encounter.
